Emotions

Emotions: Crazy, unpredictable feelings that tend to make us say and do things that we wouldn’t normally do.

  • Anger: Some people are more quick to anger than others, some people can control their anger better than others, whatever the case, I know that I have a problem with anger. When my siblings point out that I haven’t spent much time playing with them lately, I get angry, mostly at myself, because it’s true. Honestly, I get angry with myself a whole lot more than I get angry with other people. I tend to pin the blame for everything on myself, because it keeps me from sinning against other people, and from doing things I would regret in the future. James 1:19-20 says this, My dearly loved brothers, understand this: everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. For man‘s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousnessThis is really very true. It is hard to be slow to anger, I have tried really, really hard to get better at this, and it’s not coming along as well as I’d like.  It takes a lot of patience to not get angry, and say or do something that I regret later when my sister lays on top of me when I’m trying to go to sleep, and won’t get off, for ten minutes. I need to take that up to God, and let Him take it away. See, when you get angry God wants you to go to Him and tell Him all about it, and let Him take it away. I’ve been trying to do that, and have gotten to the point where, when I’m angry I do go to God, and I go to my Bible. It’s helped a lot, and if it does not help, I listen to Gordan Lightfoot, which, you know, is not as Biblical, but it helps. Gordan Lightfoot’s music is very relaxing. So if you go to your Bible most of the time, that is really good! Congrats! If not, that’s OK, just try to do it next time you get mad.
  • Grumpy: OK, I have no solution to this, we all have bad days, the main thing is to pray a lot, and try to read your Bible. For me, I cannot have a good attitude until I’ve bawled my eyes out for about ten minutes. After that I’m completely fine. It’s not like it fades out or anything it’s like waaa-I’m fine. It’s weird. I don’t know what it’s like to be grumpy like a normal person.
  • Sad: With sadness, it really just takes time, and a lot of praying. There are lot’s of comforting things in the Bible too. Yes, Joshua 1:9 says to be brave and courageous, but sometimes you just have to breath, and lean on God.
  • Happy! This is a good emotion! Not very many of those, happiness really, is the main one. When your happy, that’s when it is the easiest to trust in God. This is a good time to write down all those good verses about trusting God, being joyful and things like that, that way when you are upset you’ll remember what these verses mean to you.
  • Fear: Of change, of loss, for a loved one, the main thing is to trust in God, and remember Jeremiah 29:11.
