Inner Beauty Part 1: Judging it.

Outer beauty is something the world around us obsesses with. It is difficult to truly see what God wants us to see. I know you have probably heard this before, but It is more important to be pretty on the inside than it is on the outside.  1 Samuel 16:7  tells us to not look at peoples status or appearance.  Every Christian struggles with this, God was right when He said, “Man does not see what the LORD sees, for man sees what is visible, but the LORD sees the heart.” Man does tend to focus on what we can see with our eyes,  and that right there is half the problem. When we look at someone, we immediately start putting him or her in a category: Rich, poor, decent, indecent, proud, confident, nervous, pretty, ugly, etc. The list goes on and on and on. If we can stop ourselves the next time we see somebody we don’t know, stop and think, “I don’t know what is going on in their life, I have no right to say if they are pretty or not. ”  Then we will be off to a good start. If we can make a habit of not judging people, then we are doing really, really good.

Dear LORD,

Please help me to leave the judging to You. You are the only one who has the right to judge somebody, and yet I take it into my own hands all the time. Please help me to break that habit. Thank you for all You have blessed me with.

Amen

Message from the Author

Hi readers!

  1. First of all I want to thank you so much for coming to my website! I’m  so happy to have you on here! Secondly, I am trying to turn this website into a Bible study guide, but I need your help! If you have any topic that you would like me to touch in my Bible study posts please comment on this post. I can’t wait to hear from you!  I will definitely look in to your suggestions.  I have done some in depth studies on what the Bible says about:
  2. Outward and Inner Beauty.
  3. Forgiveness.
  4. Reading your Bible daily.
  5. Praise.

Hopefully I can get some of these studies into posts soon! If there is something else let me know and I will find some good scripture that goes along with your topic and my opinion of what the scripture means. Thanks again for reading this! Please tell your friends about my website! Thank you!

Sincerely,

Aubrey Carr

Could’ve…

Psalm 18:1-3

The LORD has saved us from many a situation, and we don’t even realize it. How many times have you said, “That could have gone badly.”? It probably would have if the LORD wasn’t watching over you.  He does so much for us and half the time I don’t think we notice.

Dear LORD,

Please help us to appreciate everything You have done for us. Help us to count our blessings and always know that we have a refuge in You. “I Love You, LORD my strength.”

Amen

“LORD, LORD.”

Matthew  7:7-23

Reading the Bible daily is good, but taking it’s meaning into your everyday life is better.  Doing God’s will above your own is the surest path to life. Saying you’re doing God’s will, but doing your only your own is the surest path to destruction. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘LORD, LORD,” will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in Heaven.” Matthew 7:21

Dear LORD,

Please help me to do Your will above everything else. Help me to Know Your will. Thank you for everything You’ve given me.

Amen

“For those who live in the truth..”

John 3:17

“For those who live in truth, come to light.” Do not hide in the ways of the world, but seek to live in the ways of Jesus. Try to live the way Jesus lived; loving His enemies, and His Father. “Love your neighbor as yourself,” Respect the people around you, even if they might not be as nice as you or as strong, or as rich, these things do not matter in the eyes of God. (Except for the first one.)

Dear LORD,

Please help me to seek after you with all that I am. Help me to seek Your face always. Help me to be as much like Your son as possible.

Amen

What is Praise?

Psalm 34:1-3

What is praise? How do we praise God at all times? I think by being as much like Jesus as we can, and bringing glory to God’s name, and singing about His glory. I also think that praying can praise Him. If you pray about how wonderful His creation is, and how great He is then you can praise Him.

Dear Lord,

Please help me to praise You with all my heart all the time. Please help me to grow in relationship with you.

Amen

Always with you.

Psalm 40:1-5

Psalm 34:1

God is always with you. You are never alone. He loves you, all you have to do is ask and He will forgive you of all your sins. We all sin. None of us are deserving, yet His amazing sacrifice gives us all the chance to enter Heaven. All you have to do is believe that Jesus is God’s son; your savior, and confess and regret your sins. Also love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and strength.

Dear LORD,

You are wonderful in every way. Your love for Your children  is incredible. Thank you for everything.

Amen

“You are not all clean.”

John 13:1-10

“You are not all clean.” Jesus told Simon Peter. Just as Simon Peter wasn’t all clean, we are not all clean. Our hearts are very dirty, and only Jesus can clean them out. It’s like whenever somebody stops at your house unexpectedly and you don’t really want to let them in until your house is clean. In the same way, we don’t want to let Jesus in, because He’ll see how dirty our heart is. But Jesus is the only one who can get our heart clean.

Dear LORD,

Please help me to open my heart to You. I really need your help in cleaning up my heart and my life. You, and only you can help me.

Amen

Parables of Jesus Christ

Matthew 13:1-23

When you hear a parable and think of it as just a story it loses it’s meaning. But when to you take a few minutes to think about the meaning of the story, you are enlightened, and will think of the meaning every time you hear the parable. Let that meaning take root in your heart. Use it in your everyday life. Be the good soil and sow the meaning of every Bible verse deep into your soul.

Dear LORD,

Please help me to be that good soil. Help me to truly understand the meaning of all the wonderful parables in Your Word.

Amen

Against the Flow

Dear Reader,

Sometimes, to do what’s right we have to push against the flow,  sometimes we can’t listen to the opinions around us because it obstructs our opinions, making them seem small and unimportant, even in our own minds.  The world around us contains 6 billion people, each with billions of different opinions on billions of different things. We can’t always rely on those opinions or theories to be correct. After all, some of the most valued theories today came from scientist who were thought to be nuts at the time. And if we were to stand up and say that Benjamin Franklin had the wrong idea about  lightning being a form of static electricity, you would be made fun of, but if you managed to prove it,  it would go down in the history books.  I’m not saying that I don’t believe lightning is a form of static electricity, I’m just saying that not all the common beliefs of today are necessarily right, and it takes somebody standing up and pushing against the flow to prove it, and by doing that your are making the world a better place. You are clearing the path for the generations to come. I’m not saying you’ll be right every single time, I am just saying that you have to try.  “And if you don’t succeed, try, try again.”

Sincerely,
